DCDS is pleased to provide dental assisting skills training through the DCDS Dental Assisting School. This course is a four (4) hour CERP-Certified course intended to enhance the clinical skills of licensed dental professionals. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
- Hold a current licensed issued by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners as an RDA, RDH, DDS, or DMD.
- Submit a completed application
- Pay the seminar fee
SEMINAR (WORKSHOP) FEE:
The fee for the four (4) hour course is $75 which includes all necessary PPE, supplies, and supplemental materials.
CANCELLATION and REFUND POLICY:
- The cancellation/refund deadline is a week (7 days) prior to the course.
- A 20% administrative fee will be assessed for all cancellation requests on or prior to this date.
- Since this is a limited attendance course, “no shows” will forfeit the full course fee.
- No refunds will be granted after seven (7) days prior to the course.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
At the end of this workshop, students will be able to utilize various film holding devices to correctly position and obtain diagnostic quality radiographs during patient care.
STUDENTS WILL LEARN:
- How to assemble film holding devices
- How to position film holding devices using the paralleling technique
- Learn about different film holding devices
- Will learn the proper machine setting for intended exposure types (Posterior PA’s, Anterior PA’s, Bitewings)
- The bisecting-the-angle technique
- The correct positioning of patients for panoramic radiographs
- Common patient hurdles and adaptation methods
- Common positioning errors and how to correct
