DCDS Dental Assisting School Externships

Thank you for offering your dental practice as a possibility to accommodate our DCDS Dental Assisting School (DCDSDAS) students as externs. A couple of things that are good to know as you sign up:

  1. Students are required to gain a minimum of forty hours of learning through their externship, preferably four hours per day for two days each.
  2. Staff at your practice should understand that these are students, and that this externship is a learning opportunity for the student.
  3. No pay can be given to the students during their externship.
  4. DCDSDAS will be assisting the students in applying for their RDA during the program. Any job offer you may be considering should not be extended until the student has completed the DCDSDAS program.
